#InspiringLives Twenty seven years ago, Mathunny Mathews created history when he played a key role in the evacuation of over 170,000 Indians from Kuwait, during the Invasion by Iraq. It was the world’s largest civilian evacuation in history. He passed away on Saturday at the age of 81. He first went to Kuwait in 1956 by boat. He was popularly known as ‘Toyota’ Sunny and was a pillar of the Indian expatriate community there for over half-a-century. He was the inspiration for Akshay Kumar’s role in ‘Airlift’ based on the mass evacuation. #RIP
