Tirgan! By Tus

One of our ancient celebrations is the Tirgan which has been forgotten and is coming back! The other name of Tirgan Celebration is the National Day of Damavand, the highest pick in Iran! Ancient Persians celebrated the 13th of the month Tir where the mythological Hero (History) Arash Kamangir shot his arrow from the top of Damavand to set the borders of Persia in a peaceful way! It is interesting to know that the Name of the month “Tir” means in modern Persian also Arrow, Shot, Fire, Firing, Dart, Spike, Gunshot, and pain. The Hero Arash Kamangir lost his life after using his arrow and bow. He put his life and all his Power into his Arrow!
